Baja Golf Courses: Tijuana Country Club
The Tijuana Country Club golf course was built in 1948. Designed
by Allister McKenzie for golfers of all skill levels, the course
is a favorite with Californians due to its close proximity to the
U.S. border. The geography of the region has altered dramatically
in the past 5 decades and the golf course is now located in the
middle of the city. There is virtually no water; however there
are over 100 well-placed sand traps.
The Tijuana Country Club has
a long tradition of noteworthy International Tournaments, and is
enhanced by a beautiful dance hall, clubhouse, golf shop, restaurant,
and a popular bar. It is situated only minutes inside the Mexican
border and therefore makes it very accessible for those coming
from the U.S. Both carts and caddies are available for rent.
